Artist statement:
Christopher Robbins has been creating his unique ceramic sculptures for the past 10 years. While studying Art and Education at Sam Houston State University, he began modeling simple symbolic figures and incorporating them into wall pieces and functional pottery. This trend continues in his work today.
Christopher has broadened his sculptural work to include masks, abstract figures, fountains, and animal forms. His most recent work explores texture and the use of repetition. Predominant themes are archetypal and symbolic figures and issues concerning habitation and environment.
Christopher Robbins teaches art, ceramics, and sculpture at McNeil High School in the Round Rock School District. He lives and creates his distinctive sculptures in Leander, Texas.
